Manual therapy is one of the integral components to most of the treatment plans at Blue Mountain Family Chiropractic. Manual therapy simply means "hands on". Years of use and abuse can leave muscles shortened, irritated, and full of local areas of local spasm called trigger points. Manual therapy can improve the condition of muscles so that there is less pain and better function.
Most people think the terms massage therapy and manual therapy are synonymous. However, manual therapy is not just simply for relaxing muscles and stress relief. Although both of those can be side effects, the goal of manual therapy is to break up adhesions and scar tissue, therefore reducing pain and improving range of motion and function.
At Blue Mountain Family Chiropractic, we offer a variety of hands on techniques that is tailored to an individual's problem. They range from very gentle myofascial release techniques to more aggressive trigger point therapy and soft tissue mobilization.
Blue Mountain Family Chiropractic also offers a specialized form of manual therapy using instruments called Insrument Assissted Soft Tissue Mobilization. Click here for more information.
